JLG 800 AJ from VERTEX rental fleet is working on the reconstruction of the snow-melting point in Moscow

In Moscow, like in no other metropolis of the world, there is the acute problem of cleaning of the streets from snow and its utilization. Until 2002, the snow removed from the urban areas and roadways, was dumped into the rivers, that negatively affected to the ecological state of the water bodies and the coastal zone. To improve the ecological situation in the capital and to prevent the discharge of snow into the water bodies of Moscow, more than 30 snow-melting points were built and put into the operation, located in all of the administrative districts of the city, with the total capacity of 140 thousand m3 / day.

And since summer usually flies by quickly, and winter comes swiftly, the work on the modernization and reconstruction of the snow-melting points is carried out almost all the year round.

One of the construction sites is equipped with the lifting equipment from Vertex rental fleet.

With the help of JLG 800 AJ self-propelled articulated boom lift, with the working height of 26, 46 m and the horizontal boom of 15,74 m, the work is being carried out to install the internal engineering systems of the new building of the snow-melting point.

The advantages of working at the heights using the self-propelled articulated boom lift:

  1. Comfort and safety of workers at the height
  2. Access to the hard-to-reach places
  3. Reducing the time of work which means the increase of labor productivity

The project for snow disposal at the snow-melting points built on the collectors of the Moscow sewerage system was the first and the unique in our country for a long time.

Since the Moscow sewage treatment facilities provide the high efficiency of cleaning from the suspended solids and oil products, the environmental damage from the polluted snow to the city water bodies is completely prevented.
