Quality control at the source: VERTEX technical team conducted a large-scale audit of XCMG and TZCO factories in China

VERTEX continues to implement the strategy of uncompromising quality control of the supplied special equipment. The VERTEX engineering and technical group made an extended working visit to China with an in-depth audit of key machine-building industries.

The focus was on the factories of two industry leaders - XCMG and TZCO. The key task of the VERTEX delegation was not just to get acquainted with the facilities, but to conduct a detailed check of the full production cycle, search for weaknesses, adapt machines to the harsh Russian conditions and agree on uninterrupted service support.

During the visit to the XCMG production site, VERTEX specialists studied the entire line of lifting equipment - from the design stage in the design office to the roll-off of finished machines from the assembly line. We conducted our own test drives of the equipment and organized a strategic session with the management and engineering staff of the plant.

Key results of negotiations with XCMG:

1. The development and serial installation of optional packages for operation at low temperatures (hydraulic heating, engine preheaters, frost-resistant high-pressure hoses and cables) has been agreed.
2. We discussed the introduction of vacuum manipulators (suction cups for glass), which turn lifts into universal complexes for facade glazing.
3. We pointed out to the plant a number of controversial technical solutions in the components of the machines and passed on the recommendations of VERTEX engineers on their optimization.
4. We have developed a joint regulation for warranty support of equipment in the Russian Federation and the structure of Russian-language service documentation for fast after-sales service.
5. We agreed on the formation of an expanded irreducible stock of original spare parts and consumables in VERTEX warehouses.

The TZCO plant is a large-scale industrial giant with a colossal nomenclature: the company produces not only self-propelled lifts, but also overhead cranes, beam cranes, crawler and truck cranes, as well as equipment for the Ministry of Emergency Situations and fire services.

However, the visit of the VERTEX technical team was of a tough audit nature. In the process of inspecting the lift assembly shops, our specialists identified a number of design and assembly flaws that affect the service life of the machines.

Following the inspection, an emergency meeting was held with the technical director and the quality control service of the plant. VERTEX employees substantively demonstrated all the weaknesses of the units.

Together with TZCO engineers, a step-by-step plan was approved to eliminate the identified defects directly on the factory conveyor before the shipment of batches to the Russian Federation.

We discussed the launch of the production of new modifications of lifts, designed to close scarce niches at construction sites in Russia.
